Now when the car is stationary or on a signal, the needle goes one point above the half and comes back to half (automatically). It seems the fan brings it down.

Had a heck of a time trying to get the truck to turn over after I would get gas- that helped me figure out what the issue was. Like.I will suggest the same as others have. Check coolant level, if low then top it off. The ECT won’t work properly if there isn’t coolant. If coolant is full then check into replacing the ECTs. They are cheap and are known to go bad on the Cruze and will show false readings on gauge.No, just take it out.
